For thousands of years in these oils have been used various cultures for medicinal, health and beauty purposes. These healing oils are rapidly growing in popularity again as they are they are being rediscovered as a natural medicine.

LOOKING AFTER YOUR ESSENTIAL OILS?

When used correctly Essential Oils are safe, giving a sense of happy satisfaction and enjoyment to use. They are however concentrated and powerful organic compounds. Some have contra-indications. So as with all natural products, precautions should be followed. If you are unsure about using these oils, please contact an aromatherapist or seek medical advice.

GENERAL

USE

  • Do not apply apply undiluted to the skin.

  • Never take essential oils internally, always country specific reulations.

  • Keep away from children, eyes and mucus membranes.

  • If pregnant, seek professional advice before using  - it is important to never use Essential Oils in the first trimester of pregnancy.

  • If you have a from epilepsy, ADHD, high blood pressure or liver disorders or cancer - always seek medical advice before using.

  • If you have allergies and/or sensitive skin, it is recommended you try a patch test before using.

  • Always seek medical / professional  advice and discontinue using an essential oil  If you have an adverse reaction.

  • If you use citrus oil - avoid exposure to direct sunlight and  sun bed use.

INDICATIONS

Always talk to an Aromatherapist if you have any of the follow contra-indications.

  • Pregnancy - never use Essential Oils in the first trimester of pregnancy.

  • Epilepsy

  • High/Low blood pressure

  • Diabetes

  • Alcohol

 

StorINg OILS

  • Essential oils are pure natural extracts from plants. They have a shelf life and will eventually deteriorate. Once this happens they loose their benefits and can cause skin reactions. To keep them at their best  store as followed:

  • Always keep the caps on them, as they are volatile and will evaporateStore them in dark glass bottles away from bright sunlight, upright and at room temperature. 

  • Be aware of where you store them as they are highly flammable and may corrode polished surfaces, plastic and rubber.

  • Keep essential oils out of reach of children and pets.

  • If you are also using carrier oils, keep them tightly sealed, away from direct sunlight and stored correctly away from fluctuating temperatures. Some carrier oils should also be stored in the fridge to slow deterioration.
